UK ScreenSkills – Makeup Trainee Placements

Applications for ScreenSkills’ film Trainee Finder 2023-24 are now open – however, the closing date is 23:59 on Monday 28 November so get your application in quickly.

Here is the information from ScreenSkills:

Trainee Finder is a year-long entry-level placement programme which places trainees on productions to ensure a continued supply of talent, capable of making world-class creative content. Trainee Finder has had notable success in matching participants on productions, including films such as Jurassic World Dominion, No Time to Die, Empire of Light and MEN.

The programme is open to candidates who are over 18, have completed education by the 31st of March 2023, and with less than a year’s paid experience in their chosen department from a range of jobs where there are skills shortages. This includes makeup.

Participants become part of an industry-recognised group of trainees and ScreenSkills will endeavour to find paid work for the trainees on productions across the UK – alongside industry-based training and networking opportunities. For more information on what it is like to be part of the programme, and to hear from trainees past and present, watch our recruitment launch webinar.

This year, we will once again be recruiting hair and make-up trainees. Please view our job profile page to find out more about this production role and what the job responsibilities will likely entail. We welcome applicants who may have transferable skills, for example, from other creative sectors such as theatre, music, photography and commercial production, or from roles in other sectors such as business administration, event management, or make-up and hair applicants with salon experience.

Applications are now open now and will close at 23:59 on Monday 28 November. To find out more about the programme, application criteria and how to apply, click here.
