The Edwardian Era
Queen Victoria died in January 1901, which meant her son, Edward, was now the monarch. Her death marked the end of the Victorian era and the dawn of the Edwardian era. King Edward VII reigned until 1910.
Here is a small collection of black and white photographs from Edwardian Britain. Some show people from all walks of life going about their daily chores and activities. Others have sat in a photographer’s studio to have their portraits taken. Collectively, they show the hairstyles and fashions of the era.
